Imperial Authority

• The Yellow Dragon (Huanglong) was linked to the Chinese emperor, representing divine rulership.
• Only the emperor could wear five-clawed dragon robes; nobles had fewer claws.

The Four Dragon Kings

• Each rules a sea (East, South, West, North) and answers to the Jade Emperor.
